It’s been a tough couple of weeks because I’ve been down with a cold and experiencing other stress-related issues. Therefore, instead of focusing on this website and my publication (Working Freelance Writer), I’ve been placing all my energy on client work, self-care, and my family. Some of my colleagues noticed my absence in comparison to how active I usually am and reached out.
Reaching out like that means a lot when someone is working in a business like freelance writing. We don’t have a lot of contact with the “outside world.” So, few people aside from those we have day-to-day contact with know what’s happening and why we go silent (or quieter than usual). Therefore, when people notice things are “off,” it means something—those people are offering support. Yes, that matters and I appreciated everyone and every word.
I’m feeling better, and my energy is returning. I went to the doctor yesterday and am on track for better health. I’ve spent the last couple of years focusing on my husband’s health ever since his hospitalization with hemorrhagic pancreatitis and systematic organ failure, as well as subsequent recovery. Now that he is doing better, we’re going to get back on track with my health.
In the meantime, thank you to everyone who reached out and offered me support—I appreciate all of you!
